The salesperson was sharp. The specific product his customer wanted was not available, but the salesperson happened to have another brand and model that was just as good as the one the customer wanted. You have probably fallen for the same pitch just as I have only to be disappointed. There are those today who are trying to sell substitutes for serving Jesus Christ. They minimize the need for prayer, Bible study, church attendance and other spiritual disciplines. Falling for a product sales pitch might cost us a few dollars, but denying our need for Jesus could cost us eternal life with Him.
