Are we too busy celebrating to be thankful? Nine men in Luke 17 were. They had been healed from one of the most dreadful diseases of their day. Their skin was slowly rotting away. They had probably lost toes and fingers. They had to live in total isolation and would not dare go near their family for fear of infecting them. Perhaps their only hope was the relief death would bring. Then one day Jesus came to their village. He did not run away as others often did, but commanded them to go and show themselves to the priests. As they went, their leprosy vanished and they were clean. Can you imagine? Oh yes, they were overjoyed. So overjoyed that they forgot to thank Jesus. God, please help us not to make that mistake.
