It is astonishing how easily we take things for granted. There are several reminders around the house. We turn a faucet expecting water. We flip a switch and expect lights or energy to power an electrical appliance. We press a button and expect a TV show or access to the internet. We change the thermostat and count on cooler or warmer temperatures. When any one of those services are interrupted even for a short period, there is a renewed appreciation for simple things we normally give no thought. Our relationship with God can become somewhat the same. As long as things are going well, we take God for granted. We give little thought to prayer and Bible study, but when disaster strikes we immediately search for God. Don’t wait for trouble. Daily seek God.
